The Focus of Glorybound Ministries, Inc. The goal of all of our ministry endeavors, past and present, is to bring the knowledge of salvation through Jesus Christ to those who haven't heard about Him, and to bring maturity and stability in the Word of God to the Body of Christ. We make every effort to accomplish this through praise and worship, and through the teaching and preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to the Bible. To that end, we have also been called upon to spiritually and administratively assist other ministries in becoming established and successful. How We Came to Be ...by Wyatt Moore Glorybound Ministries was founded and incorporated in 1984 by Wyatt and Claudia Moore in Albuquerque, NM to facilitate the beginning of their traveling teaching and music ministry after graduating from the Word of Faith Bible College in Dallas, TX. You might be interested in knowing that the name "Glorybound" came from a friend, Nancy Curto. She moved from Albuquerque to Dallas with us to attend Word of Faith Bible College, and was playing guitar, singing and teaching with us at the time. She had a small Bible re-binding enterprise in her home which she advertised as "Glory Bound Bible Binding". The first time we ministered together on "Christ is Here", a live local radio program on KDAZ (730 AM) in Albuquerque, program host and station owner Blackie Gonzales asked us the name of our "group". We didn't even think we were a "group", much less one that needed a name! Right there, on the spot, we decided that he should introduce us as "Glorybound", and the name stuck to us. We began by making many outreach trips to Mexico, accompanied most of the time by Caly Rodriguez, another Bible College friend and co-minister. She's a dual Mexican-American citizen who's fluent in Spanish. When at home in Albuquerque, we ministered in churches, jails, prisons, rescue missions, street and park outreaches, on TV and radio -- just about anywhere we could! Through the mid and late '80's, we began to travel more and more, doing city-wide meetings in Minneapolis, MN and Des Moines, IA, and ministering in as many churches and other places as possible (mostly up and down I-35, it seems!) In one of these city-wide meetings in Minneapolis, MN, we became good friends with Sandy Brown, one of the best-known Christian ministers of the day. When Dean and Sandy moved from Tulsa, OK to Las Vegas, NV, to begin an Evangelism Training Center there, we (and eventually 40 other folks from Albuquerque!) moved with them in January, 1988. For the relatively short time that Believer's Ministry International Church flourished in Las Vegas, Claudia and I were Assistant Pastors. We were also co-founders of My Father's House church in Las Vegas before returning to traveling missionary work in September of 1989. While ministering in Mexico in April/May of 1990, Claudia had a bout with pneumonia that she just couldn't seem to shake. After a while, she had to be brought back to Albuquerque to get her well again. The rest of the Glorybound group had to stay in Mexico to finish-up nearly a month of meetings which had already been scheduled in advance. Yelling at the devil as I drove "the bus" north from McAllen to San Antonio, the Lord spoke to me, saying, "I want to use this time to re-direct your ministry. If you'll allow me to do so, you'll be able to re-duplicate your ministry efforts many times over." As Claudia got healthy, the Holy Ghost began to speak to us, first through prophecy, then through the Word, about starting a church in Albuquerque. We said, "The last thing Albuquerque needs is another church," and He said, "You won't just be another church." We said, "But we aren't like most of the Pastors we've ever met," and He said, "I didn't call you to be like the other Pastors you've met." It's nearly impossible to win an argument with God! But as He continued to speak, the idea of church started sinking-in -- but slowly. We spent next year-and-a-half working with Restoration Ministries Church in Albuquerque, administering an Evangelism Training School in conjunction with that church, while traveling some, too. But the ever-persistent Holy Spirit at one point said flatly, "I want this church up and running by the end of 1991!" So, on the first Sunday of November, 1991, Glorybound Ministries Church (now Center) had its first Sunday morning church service. That was sixteen years and two buildings ago... And now, Although Glorybound is still actually one organization, there's really two parts -- there's the local church (Glorybound Ministries Center), and then there's Glorybound Ministries, Inc., which more accurately encompasses the travel and publishing part of the ministry. Claudia and I still travel -- together or separately, as the need arises -- just about anywhere and just about anytime to minister. Glorybound's Assistant Pastor Mary Dorian, who walks in a very reliable and accurate Prophetic anointing, travels along on many of our out-of-town ministry trips as well as by herself (read more about us on the "About the Pastors" page). Through Glorybound Ministries, Inc., we continue to produce books, teaching tapes and CD's, music CD's, videos, and use television programs, radio, the internet and other media outlets to spread the Gospel. Case in point: Claudia and Mary made a trip to Indonesia in late 2000, where we hear that the Indonesian translation of her book "Pictures in the Heart" continues to be a Christian best-seller. FYI Glorybound Ministries, Inc., is a New Mexico corporation in good standing and is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)3 tax-exempt, non-profit corporation. |
